Get Indian Passport in just 7 days – 2016 Rulebook

Yes Now you can get your passport in just 7 days by submitting only 4 documents to the government. Our Ministry of External Affairs has just announced this rule regarding passport that will be definitely beneficial for applicants who are trying to make passport for first-time.

After submitting these 4 documents, you can easily get the appointment at local passport office. If your documents are approved by the passport staff then yes you can get the passport in your hand in just 7 days, i.e. ONE week.

The documents which you need for applying the passport are as listed below –

  1. Copy of Aadhaar Card
  2. A Photo ID Card(Electronic – EPIC)
  3. PAN Card (Permanent Account Number)
  4. An Affidavit (In format of Annexure-1 regarding declaration of citizenship + Family Details + No criminal Record)

Before, the same process takes more than 1 month but now our Indian government did a lot of changes in policies to fast track the process of applying the passport.

After submitting these 4 documents, police verification will be conducted after the passport has been issued and for that verification, there will no extra fees we have to pay to government said by Anil Kumar, Director of Passport Division in ministry.

He also stated “There are plenty of inbuilt safeguards in our system which can instantly spot fake identities and forgeries. Most importantly, our system is linked to the Aadhaar database which helps conduct real-time verification of the applicant while s/he is still at the passport seva kendra
